My follow-up question would be; is it possible to take a UF2 for a Pico and hack it to produce a UF2 which runs on he Pico 2 ?
The differences I see are that Run from Flash code for the RP2040 starts with a 256 byte Boot Stage 2 followed by 256 bytes of vector while the RP235X has 512 bytes of vectors. But from then on it's just 'code' so seems it could be compatible if RP235X ARMv8 runs ARMv6M+ code as is.
There are Meta Blocks and the Errata-E10 fix which may need adding, maybe more, but it feels like it could be possible. Not so sure about Run from RAM, and less so about Copy to RAM code.
